Nazareth Hospital was started by the Consolata Missionary Sisters by a very humble Sr. Prisca Groppo way in 1964 as a small dispensary to meet the needs of the rural population around Riara Ridge.

OUR HISTORY

The Nazareth Hospital, is located 25 Km from Nairobi, between Limuru Kiambu road at Riara Ridge.

It is surrounded by several villages. There are many tea and coffee farms owned by local people. These estates are a source of employment for many people.

The Nazareth Hospital was started by the Consolata Missionary Sisters in a very humble Sr. Prisca Groppo way in 1964 as a small dispensary to meet the needs of the rural population around Riara Ridge.

Nazareth hospital is a level 5 mission facility under the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi that was started in 1964 as a dispensary by the Consolata Sisters. The hospital is located in Riara Ridge, Limuru and currently has one other branch in Ruiru.

t was started back in 1964 as a Dispensary to meet the health needs of the rural people working in the neighbouring tea and coffee plantations. This was an initiative by Consolata Sisters who managed this Hospital up to the year 1999, before handing it over to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (FIHM) to continue with the healing ministry.

Due to it’s constant upgrading of services to under privileged, Nazareth is highly respected for it’s work in medical mission and is a key part of the Kenya Health care services. It is famous for it’s Urology services, Maternity services and HIV/AIDS care among others.. We appreciate all our benefactors.

Our Services

Nazareth Hospital is situated in Riara Ridge, Limuru Division of Kiambu West District (about 25 km from Nairobi city), and is a Mission and non-profit making hospital under the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi.

It was started back in 1964 as a Dispensary to meet the health needs of the rural people working in the neighboring tea and coffee plantations. This was an initiative by Consolata Sisters who managed this Hospital up to the year 1999, before handing it over to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (FIHM) to continue with the healing ministry.
