Surgical Wards

The surgical ward in Nazareth hospital admits all patients for surgery, whether general surgery, special surgery (VVF, TURP), or Gynaecological surgery except Caesarean Section.

The department is headed by an experienced Consultant General Surgeon and a Consultant Gynaecologist, who are supported by a team of dedicated qualified and supportive staff.

The  Common Surgical Cases:

  1. Appendicitis
  2. Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH)
  3. Fractures
  4. Goiter
  5. Hemorrhoids, hernia and anal fissures
  6. TAH, Burns
  7. Prolapsed intervertebral disc
  8. Road traffic accident and Urethral Strictures

Through our good collaboration with other health care providers, different surgical camps were held in the Hospital in the year 2009. These are Urology Transurethral Resection of Prostate (TURP), VVF (Vesical Vagina Fistula) repairs and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery by AMREF volunteer specialists, and Cleft surgery kindly supported by Dr Bart and Dr De Franco of Cleft Surgery Organization of Netherlands.
