How to Prepare

Simple steps help us get the clearest images possible. If you’re unsure, call us before your visit.

Ultrasound (Abdomen/Pelvis)
  • Abdomen: Fast for 6 hours (water/essential meds allowed).
  • Pelvis/Obstetric: Arrive with comfortably full bladder (drink 3–4 glasses of water 1 hour before).
  • Wear two-piece clothing for easy access.

  • Bring doctor’s request form or clinic notes.
  • Remove metal objects/jewelry from area being imaged.
  • Inform staff if you are (or might be) pregnant.

Doppler Studies
  • Wear loose clothing; avoid tight stockings for leg studies.
  • For carotid studies, avoid heavy collars/neckwear.
  • Take usual medications unless advised otherwise.

Turnaround Times & Reports

Most routine X-rays and ultrasounds are reported on the same day. Complex studies and second opinions may take longer. Your clinician receives the official report, and you may request a patient copy.
